LEAFY

We used to live in a very old building in Barcelona, with a beautifully painted ceiling of the living room. Because of the high ceiling We were looking for a hanging lamp of at least 90 cm in diameter but we didn’t trust the old fixture to be able to hold a lot of weight. We also wanted the lamp to be easily taken with us in case we were going to move.

The solution to making a big, yet lightweight lamp that is easily taken apart, was found in lasercutting thin material. We were afraid that 3 mm plywood wood bend over time (turned out it didn’t) and started looking at other materials. We loved working with methacrylate but didn’t like bringing more plastic in the world. Then we discovered a 100% recycled and 100% recyclable methacrylate (Green Cast®).

Leafy can have either 12 or 6 arms.

Made from 100% recycled and 100% recyclable methacrylate (Green Cast®) or FSC plywood.
